UTHSC professor Jim Bailey to sign novel

Jim Bailey, a professor of medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, will read from his debut novel, “The End of Healing” (The Healthy City, $33.95), at a book-signing from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Tsunami restaurant, next door to Burke’s Book Store, sponsor of the event. The book’s protagonist is a hospital resident who uncovers a conspiracy in the health care industry. “This book will change your perspective on the U.S. medical system forever,” according to the jacket, “and give you the insight you need to find real healing in today’s world.” Bailey directs the Center for Health Systems Improvement at UTHSC.
