The University of Tennessee Health Science Center intends to build its future with Regional One Health, the safety-net hospital in the Medical District, as its decades-long relationship with Methodist University Hospital shrinks. While negotiations are not final, UT College of Medicine Executive Dean Dr. Scott Strome in mid-May outlined reassignments for several dozen physicians, including surgeons, who will be based at Regional One and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. About 40 residents also will be reassigned.
