University of Tennessee System leaders want to prioritize mental health care for students and faculty with the creation of the new chief wellness officer position. Dr. Jessica “Jessi” Gold will oversee mental health and wellness resources and culture across the system when she steps into the role Feb. 1. She plans to use 20 years of learning and experience to create a thriving mental health ecosystem at UT. Gold, who will work out of Memphis’ UT Health Science Center, also will teach and serve clinical hours as a psychiatrist.
