One day in August, Dr. Peter Buckley decided to explore Memphis. Already, he had been to Graceland. He had seen Beale Street, the Peabody, and Sun Studio.
Now, the newest chancellor of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) wanted to visit places that weren’t necessarily tourist staples. This is the story of that serendipity — and how it led Buckley from Ireland to America, and ultimately, to Memphis.
