A physician from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development has been tapped to direct a new UT-Le Bonheur Pediatric Obesity Center and to lead other initiatives at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital
With fall enrollment expected to be approximately 585 students, the UTHSC College of Health Professions (COHP) now comprises six departments: Audiology and Speech Pathology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Health Informatics and Information Management, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies.
Dr. Teresa Waters is the senior author of a paper examining the post-recession financial health of hospitals that was presented at the National Press Club and published in Health Affairs, a leading journal of health policy, thought and research.

The County Commission this week awarded a $3.1 million contract to UTHSC to run the West Tennessee Regional Forensic Center and Shelby County Medical Examiner’s Office. The school plans to develop a Center of Excellence in Forensic Science.
