The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine says it is forming new department on the Memphis campus, the Department of Genetics, Genomics and Informatics (GGI). Professor Robert W. Williams will serve as the department’s founding chair.
“One of the healthiest things you can do is increase the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat,” she said.
Dr. Marie Chisholm-Burns, PharmD, MPH, MBA, is dean and professor of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy in Memphis, Knoxville and Nashville.
S. Casey Laizure, a professor in the clinical pharmacy department at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy, has received a grant totaling $150,000 from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, a part of the National Institutes of Health.

“Changing our name to the College of Health Professions presents a more accurate reflection of the vision and mission of our college as articulated by our faculty, students, staff and alumni,” said Noma Anderson, dean of the college since 2010.
It is now the College of Health Professions. And it’s the college formerly known as Allied Health Sciences.
