Dean of UTHSC College of Medicine leaves abruptly

Dr. Scott Strome, executive dean of the college of medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, resigned Tuesday, Aug. 1, without explanation. An email to staff that day from Chancellor Dr. Peter Buckley noted that Strome had stepped down from his administrative roles and thanked him for his leadership. UTHSC did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Strome, 57, an internationally recognized head and neck surgeon, was recruited to lead the college of medicine, UTHSC’s largest college, in 2018.
