Hundreds of new scientific discoveries in cancer reported by D. Neil Hayes’ team and other colleagues involved in the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), has generated an enormous public data repository for thousands of researchers around the world. Dr. Hayes is the Van Vleet Endowed Professor in Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). He holds secondary appointments in the Department of Genetics, Genomics and Informatics, and the Department of Preventive Medicine in the College of Medicine.
