COVID-19 cases in Shelby County are on the uptick

“We do see cases go up in summer with people going inside because of the heat waves and because of travel and waning immunity,” said Dr. Shirin Mazumder, associate professor of infectious diseases at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine. “And cases may go back down. Then we could anticipate another increase again in the colder weather, when people are gathering inside during the holidays.”
