Court documents detail kickbacks, fraud in Methodist, West Cancer case

Over seven years, West Cancer Center accepted $13-$16 million from Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare for oncology services it did not perform at Methodist hospitals, according to West executives, now cooperating in a federal lawsuit against Methodist. The deal was part of a much larger incentive plan that netted Methodist more than $1.5 billion in new business between 2012-2018, according to a whistleblower case filed in 2017 by the former president of Methodist University Hospital against Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, West and the firms’ signatories.
