Breast Cancer Rates On The Rise In Black Women

… the chancellor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center says the higher number of breast cancer diagnosis is because more black women are being checked than ever before. “I think it’s awareness. Awareness that you need to be seen, you need screening mammograms and once you have a positive finding on a mammogram, you need aggressive intervention early,” said Chancellor Steve Schwab. “And I think that’s become well known through awareness through the American Cancer Society,” said Schwab.
