Linda L. Williford Pifer, PhD, SM (ASCP), GS (ABB), is a professor in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences in the College of Health Professions at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. UTHSC has the oldest program for medical laboratory scientists in continuous operation in the United States, and the only program in the country that prepares graduates for certification in both Cytotechnology and Histotechnology.
