UTHSC News: UTHSC/UT System Communicators Win Top Honors for Statewide Awareness Tour

|

The Office of Communications and Marketing at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, along with leaders of the UT System Communications and Marketing Office, have received top honors from national and Tennessee public relations competitions for the planning, execution, and promotion of last fall’s “Everywhere You Look, UTHSC” tour, a statewide tour to emphasize UTHSC’s presence and impact across Tennessee.

The communicators took home a gold award for media relations and a gold award for special events less than seven days, the highest honors in those categories, from the Tennessee College Public Relations Association (TCPRA) at its convention May 24-26 in Gatlinburg. The work on the tour also netted the communicators a platinum award, the highest honor in the category for communications campaigns, in the 2023 Hermes Creative Awards, one of the oldest creative competitions in the world. The UTHSC Office of Communications and Marketing also won a bronze award for a redesign of the College of Pharmacy view book.

UTHSC Chancellor Peter Buckley, MD, and UT System President Randy Boyd traveled across the state October 31-November 2 on the inaugural “Everywhere You Look, UTHSC” tour. The tour was designed to educate and inform communities across Tennessee about the statewide reach and impact of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. During the tour, President Boyd spoke about the Be One UT values that shape the culture for the entire UT System. In addition to UTHSC’s statewide reach, Chancellor Buckley discussed UTHSC’s increased focus on rural health care, addressing the social determinants of health, and researching cures for the diseases that most affect the citizens of Tennessee.
