Patti Johnstone Elected To Serve on the Audiology Advisory Council for American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association

Patti Johnstone, PhD, CCC-A/SLP, associate professor and director of clinical education in audiology in the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the College of Health Professions at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, has been elected serve on the Audiology Advisory Council for the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Dr. Johnstone has an extensive background in research, teaching, service delivery, and practice management. She will begin serving her three-year term in January.

The Audiology Advisory Council identifies, discusses, and ranks issues of concern to members and advises ASHA’S Board of Directors on issues pertinent to the speech-language-hearing professions. Members of the advisory council are elected by ASHA members in their state and profession.

“I am deeply honored to represent and serve the interests of audiologists from the state of Tennessee,” Dr. Johnstone said. “Through my work with the council, I can positively represent our UTHSC audiology clinical and research training program to membership from across the USA and abroad. “
