Back to School Bash Sept. 14 at the Library!

Join us on the second floor of the Library Thursday, Sept. 14, starting at 1 pm for pizza, drinks, chips and cookies. Your respective library liaisons will also be there to chat and answer any questions about library services.


Rural Health Community Panel – RSVP today!!

Join us on Thursday, September 14 at noon in GEB A203 for a community panel to learn about rural health care and access issues from Lauderdale County residents. This event is in preparation for a large health fair in Lauderdale County Oct. 28 that will be sponsored by the UTHSC College of Nursing. The Living Healthy in Lauderdale County Health Fair will involve many colleges from UTHSC and will offer services including blood pressure checks, glucose screenings, dental exams and other assessments. Volunteer at the Wellness Festival on September 16

Sign up to volunteer at the Wellness Festival hosted by Healthier Memphis and Memphis Medical District. The event will be on September 16 from 11pm-3pm at Morris Park. We need volunteers to sign up for different jobs that range from 8am to 3:30pm. If you aren’t able to volunteer, please sign up to donate the blood drive during the event.


Conversations on Health Disparities with Dr. Diana Ruggiero – Language and Medical Translation

Join us on Monday, September 18, at noon in the Schreier Auditorium for lunch and learn more about what barriers to care exist for non-English speakers. We’ll be talking with Dr. Diana Ruggiero, an Associate Professor of Spanish at the University of Memphis, about medical translation, barriers to care, and how providers can best serve their patients and their families. Nominations are open for the Student Impact and Advocacy Leadership Awards! The 2023 nomination process will be open from September 5th to September 29th. Student Impact and Advocacy Leadership Award and will receive a one-time $500.00 stipend for professional development.
