Pancreatic cancer is one of the most lethal diseases, with little treatment available. Each year roughly 44,000 Americans die from pancreatic cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. Researchers at the UT Health Science Center Lab hope their work will finally lead to a way to detect pancreatic cancer sooner.
A $300,000 grant is aimed at helping find a cure for pancreatic cancer. University of Tennessee Health Science Center has been researching a cure for years, but thanks to this grant from the Kosten Foundation for pancreatic cancer, they are one step closer.
Dr. Subhash Chauhan hopes to change that with his pancreatic cancer research.
Since its founding, the organization has provided nearly $500,000 for pancreatic research at UTHSC.
