At Healing Hands Health, it’s about more than just filling cavities their mission is to train the next generation of dentists, all while giving free or low cost care to patients who need it the most, and now organization leaders are celebrating a special anniversary.
Community leaders in Kingsport gathered Thursday for a dental clinic groundbreaking. East Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee partnered to open a clinic and training site for students.
“We are nonstop hands on and we at the end of the day, we’re making a better smile,” said Heath Phillips, a fourth-year University of Tennessee dental student. Phillips and other students are serving dental patients at Healing Hands Health Center. The clinic provides care to individuals without insurance.
Healing Hands has partnered with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s dental school.
