The University of Tennessee Health Science Center said community leaders, partners and supporters gathered on Wednesday to celebrate the completion of the new Kingsport Dental Clinic of the Appalachian Highlands. It will be operated by the health science center’s College of Dentistry, aiming to improve oral health in the region.

A professor at the University of Tennessee has been given a grant to continue to study the development of drugs to fight the late stages of breast cancer. Murali Yallapu, an assistant professor in the college of pharmacy at UT, got a $439,818 grant from the National Institutes of Health to continue his research.
