On April 22, Michelle Nixon received the IMHOTEP Award during the Student Government Association Executive Council (SGAEC) banquet at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. SGAEC President Ben Maddox presented the award, which acknowledges outstanding service to UTHSC students.

An analysis of data co-authored by Dr. Johnson was presented in March at the American College of Cardiology’s 63rd Annual Scientific Session. The study showed drinking two or more diet drinks a day may increase the risk of heart disease in otherwise healthy postmenopausal women.
