Dr. George Huang, director and professor in the Department of Bioscience Research in the College of Dentistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, has been awarded the 2015 Distinguished Scientist Award in Pulp Biology by the International Association for Dental Research.


Students Raise Funds for Nepal Earthquake Relief

Earlier this week, a group from UTHSC raised $3,000 in six hours for Nepal earthquake relief, which they turned over to local representatives of the Red Cross.


UTHSC To Host Nepal Earthquake Relief Fundraiser

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center will collect donations Wednesday for Nepal earthquake relief. Faculty, staff and students will be on hand to take donations from all members of the greater Memphis community. Several UTHSC team members who are from Nepal and have family there will participate in the effort.

Methodist UT Transplant Surgeon Honored

The Tennessee Medical Association recently honored Dr. James Eason, medical director of the Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute. Eason is professor and division chief of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s transplant division.


Forensic Center Reaccredited

The center, which houses the Shelby County Medical Examiner’s Office, has been managed by the University of Tennessee Health Science Center since July 1, 2014.


Dr. Samuel Dagogo-Jack named 2015 president, Medicine & Science, for the American Diabetes Association.
