After years of delay, a new University of Tennessee audiology and speech pathology building should begin rising out of the ground at the UT Medical Center complex off Alcoa Highway in Knoxville by next summer.
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is asking potential developers for proposals to turn the old 19-story Medical Center Towers and parking garage at the edge of its Memphis campus from a boarded-up eyesore into a new hotel and conference center.
That was the hope of Tricia Hedinger, clinical assistant professor in the University of Tennessee’s Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology and one of the camp leaders.
