In partnership with Erlanger, researchers at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine – Chattanooga were part of a major multicenter international study just published in the journal Lancet Digital Health.
During the 2024 spring semester, a collaboration between the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga pre-health advising program, Erlanger and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine – Chattanooga is providing a new opportunity for students to gain much-needed and hard-to-find job shadowing experience.

Mr. Hall is a third-year medical student at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and has found his perfect place serving the medical community here. He said he has especially enjoyed being in Chattanooga due to the smaller educational setting the upper-class UT medical students assigned to this area get to enjoy.
Erlanger Medical Group announce the addition of Drs. Leahanne Giffin, Taylor Millirons and Hannah West to Erlanger Internal Medicine and Erlanger Primary Care. Dr. Giffin is a board-certified internal medicine physician with Erlanger Internal Medicine.
Charles Gomez, MD, is a board-certified pediatric orthopedic surgeon and Chattanooga native. Dr. Gomez began his medical career at Erlanger nearly 20 years ago as an EMT and patient care tech in the CHE Emergency Department. During his time at CHE, Dr. Gomez learned the importance of patient and family-centered care.
