The Hamilton Eye Institute Lions Club at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is hosting their 7th-annual Brad Baker Honorary Race for Sight 5K on Saturday, March 2, at 9 a.m. The race will be held at the Tour de Wolf Pavilion at Shelby Farms Park, 500 North Pine Lake Dr, Memphis, TN 38120.

The in-person registration fee is $20 for individuals and $15 for students and includes an official race t-shirt and tote bag. To attend virtually, the registration fee is $20 and includes an official race t-shirt. Virtual participation instructions will be provided after registering. The registration fee as a “Spirit Runner” is $20, an option for those who may not participate in-person or virtually but would like to support the mission of the Lions Club.

The Hamilton Eye Institute Lions Club is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing eye care for the underserved in the Mid-South and abroad. Funding from the race supports surgical missions including the Cataract-A-Thon, an annual event at the Hamilton Eye Institute to perform free cataract surgeries to individuals in the community who cannot afford the procedure.

“As one of the medical students in charge of planning and coordinating this year’s Race for Sight 5K, I’m extremely proud of the work that the Hamilton Eye Institute Lions Club is doing to raise money and perform vision-saving surgery for those in need,” said Chase Rohani, third-year student in the UT Health Science Center College of Medicine.
