Regenerative & Rehabilitation Sciences Seminar

|

The Regenerative and Rehabilitation Sciences Seminar Series welcomes Dr. Dryden Baumfalk, a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Dr. Ashley Smuder’s Molecular Cardiology and Myology Laboratory in the Applied Physiology & Kinesiology Department at the University of Florida.

He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Cardiology from Kansas State University. His research interests focus on the interactions between exercise, cancer, and anti-cancer therapy on the tumor microenvironment and the cardiovascular system. The Molecular Cardiology and Myology laboratory focuses on understanding the molecular signaling pathways that promote cardiac and skeletal muscle dysfunction following disease or prolonged inactivity. A current focus is determining how physical activity can preserve cardiorespiratory muscle function following chemotherapy exposure.

His seminar is titled “The Impact of Aerobic Exercise on Chemotherapy Associated Toxicity”  at noon (CST) on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Contact Janine Twitchell for ZOOM information (jtwitche@uthsc.edu)
