The College of Medicine will hold a Women’s Health Forum at The Peabody Hotel Friday, Oct. 12.
Memphis, Tenn. (October 1, 2012) – The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Medicine will hold a Women’s Health Forum at The
Peabody Hotel Friday, Oct. 12. The forum, organized by the UTHSC Office of Continuing Medical Education, will take place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the
Venetian Room.
The event features two prominent speakers, Kelly K. Hunt, MD, a 1986 UTHSC graduate, and Jennifer Ashton, MD, author of “Your Body Beautiful: Clock
stopping Secrets to Staying Healthy, Strong and Sexy in Your 30s, 40s, and Beyond.”
Dr. Hunt is chief of the Surgical Breast Section in the Department of Surgical Oncology at the Nellie B. Connally Breast Center, University of Texas MD
Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Hunt has pioneered a technique to treat breast cancer that she introduced at MD Anderson. Use of the technique has resulted in
decreased morbidity and improved quality of life.
Dr. Ashton, who received her medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, is co-host of the ABC Daytime talk show, “The
Revolution.” She worked as a medical correspondent for CBS News and has appeared on “The Early Show” and “CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.”
