UTHSC Supports 2022 Mid-South Heart Walk

|
UTHSC has supported the Mid-South Heart Walk for years.
The UTHSC campus community has proudly supported the Mid-South Heart Walk for years, both with donations and enthusiastic teams participating in the walk.

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center has a tradition of raising money and awareness for the American Heart Association through the annual Mid-South Heart Walk and Red Dress Dash. This year,  UTHSC has set a goal to raise $10,000 for the 2022 Mid-South Heart Walk and Red Dress Dash.

Currently, UTHSC has five teams participating in the 5K run/walk on April 23. The course starts at FedExForum, 191 Beale. Check-in time is 7:30 a.m. The race begins at 8:30 a.m.

The campus fund-raising kickoff will be at noon today, Thursday, April 7, at the Madison Plaza on the Memphis campus. Faculty, staff, or students who make donations at the Heart Walk table outside the HSC Hub from noon to 1 p.m. will be recognized with their names on a heart in the Madison Plaza lobby.

Individuals who make donations of $35 or more to support one of the UTHSC teams will receive a UTHSC Heart Walk T-shirt. T-shirt orders will be placed on April 14, so make a donation early!

The campus will have a second event on Wednesday, April 20, in the Madison Plaza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donors who give $10 or more to the American Heart Association via one of the UTHSC teams will get a free Mempop.

In 2019, the last time the race was held in person, the campus was the No. 3 fund-raiser in the city. The UTHSC T-shirt design won first place.

The campus community may also register or donate online.

To date, the 2022 Mid-South Heart Walk has generated more than $300,000 toward its goal of $520,000.
