UTHSC Campus Police Honor Officers During Awards Ceremony

UTHSC Campus Police recognized and honored several officers today during the Campus Police Awards Ceremony.

Four officers were promoted. Daniel Hargrow, Charles Gutelius, and Wesley Nelson were promoted to sergeant, and Sergeant William Gray was promoted to detective. Two security officers, Gloria Otuagoma and Jacoby Woodard, were sworn in. UTHSC Campus Police also presented appreciation awards to Detective William Gray and Sergeant Joanne Morrow.

“Ceremonies, such as the one this morning, are a way for the UTHSC Police Department Command Staff to recognize and acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and professionalism the men and women of the UTHSC Police Department provide to the campus community on a daily basis,” said Arley Knight, deputy chief of Campus Police.

UTHSC Campus Police has seen continuous improvements to its equipment, training, and operations.

This spring, UTHSC was ranked in the Top 10 among the 2019 Safest Colleges in America, by the National Council for Home Safety and Security. The university ranked Number 9.
