Thomason New Associate Dean for College of Graduate Health Sciences

Donald B. Thomason, PhD, professor in the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Department of Physiology, has been appointed associate dean of students for the College of Graduate Health Sciences.

Donald B. Thomason, PhD, professor in the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Department of Physiology, has been appointed associate dean of students for the College of Graduate Health Sciences.

“I am delighted that Don has accepted the position,” stated Dick Peppler, PhD, dean of the College of Graduate Health Sciences. “He has been very instrumental in the improvements with the curricula in the various college programs. I look forward to working with Don as he enhances the admissions process and environment for students in the different graduate programs within the college.”

Dr. Thomason came to UTHSC in 1990 following a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He is a native of Richland, Washington, and obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his doctorate at the University of California, Irvine.

Dr. Thomason teaches in the UTHSC Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry, and serves on faculty committees for students in these colleges, as well as for students at the University of Memphis. He was appointed chair of the Curriculum Committee for the College of Graduate Health Sciences in 2005.
