Susan Davies, PhD, has been named the associate vice chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Services for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC).
In this role, she will provide executive leadership for and oversee several administrative units that provide centralized campus support activities and services to students, including the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar’s Office, Student Life, Student Affairs, One-Stop Shop. She will also manage campus outreach programs, including K-12 outreach activities. In addition, she will represent UTHSC as the chief student affairs officer.
A native of Georgia, Dr. Davies earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Georgia Southern University, a Master of Arts degree in college student development from Bowling Green State University, and a PhD in educational studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Dr. Davies brings 20 years of higher education experience. She previously served as the associate vice chancellor of Enrollment Management at Appalachian State University. In that role, she provided leadership and management to the Office of Admissions, Registrar’s Office, Office of Transfer Services, College Access Partnerships, Office of Student Financial Aid, Student Veteran Services, and University Scholarships. Prior to that, Dr. Davies was the director of Admissions at Georgia Southern University.
The position will directly report to Lori Gonzalez, PhD, vice chancellor of Academic, Faculty, and Student Affairs at UTHSC.
