UT Health Science Center Graduates More Than Four Hundred

On Friday, May 28, 427 students graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). Graduates represented six colleges: Allied Health, Dentistry, Graduate Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy.

On Friday, May 28, 427 students graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). Graduates represented six colleges: Allied Health, Dentistry, Graduate Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy.

Dick R. Gourley, Pharm.D., dean of the UT College of Pharmacy, delivered the charge to the graduates. Dr. Gourley has served the UT College of Pharmacy as dean since 1989. Under his leadership, the college has been consistently ranked among the top ten pharmacy schools in the United States.

A UT College of Pharmacy graduate, he has published more than 50 manuscripts and co-edited four textbooks and six workbooks. Notably, he is co-editor of the Textbook of Therapeutics: Drug and Disease Management, 7th edition. Additionally, he has presented more than 225 lectures at local, state, national and international meetings.

Dr. Gourley serves on the board of directors for several pharmaceutical companies, as well as on the deans’ advisory boards for several national pharmaceutical chain stores.
