The 2025 graduates of the College of Pharmacy have achieved impressive outcomes in their licensure exams, on-time graduation rate, and residency placements.

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy Class of 2025 exceeded the state and national averages on both pharmacy licensure exams, with a 92.7% pass rate on the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and a 90.6% first-time pass rate on the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE).

The 124-member class, the largest of all pharmacy colleges in Tennessee for 2025, also demonstrated an impressive 89.4% on-time graduation rate and secured the No. 8 spot nationwide in residency placements.

“The college is incredibly proud of the Class of 2025’s outstanding performance on the NAPLEX and MPJE examinations,” said Dawn Havrda, PharmD, associate dean for Academic Affairs and Assessment at the College of Pharmacy. “Our curriculum committee and Academic Affairs team have thoughtfully and strategically reimagined the curricular delivery to reinforce fundamental concepts such as calculations, pharmacy law, and drug knowledge throughout the academic program. In addition, fourth-year NAPLEX and MPJE preparation was redesigned to provide graduates with a strong and meaningful start to their studies.”

Dr. Havrda added, “We are excited to see the positive outcomes of these efforts for both our graduates and the college, and we are thrilled to celebrate the Class of 2025 as they achieve the significant milestone of becoming licensed pharmacists.”

The NAPLEX and MPJE are mandatory computer-based exams administered by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, required for pharmacy licensure across the United States. The College of Pharmacy’s exceptional pass rates exemplify its dedication to preparing students for impactful, successful careers. As the No. 19 pharmacy school nationwide and the top-ranked institution in Tennessee, the college continues to set a high standard of excellence.
