Malak Kotb, PhD, the A.C. Mullins Professor of Translational Research at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, recently published an article in the November 10 edition of the American Society for Microbiology News.

The publication publishes invited articles only. Dr. Kotb’s paper was titled “Genetics of Susceptibility to Infectious Diseases” and discussed how genetic variations help control responses to microbial pathogens and influence susceptibility to diseases.

Dr. Kotb also serves as director of UT’s biodefense research program and translational research.
