Dear Research Community,

We are pleased to announce that we have three finalists for the vice chancellor of research position at the UT Health Science Center. This position leads the institutional research efforts at UTHSC and is an integral member of leadership within all four campuses. 


Rural Health Community Panel – mark your calendars!

Join us on Thursday, September 14 at noon in GEB A203 for a community panel to learn about rural health care and access issues from Lauderdale County residents. This event is in preparation for a large health fair in Lauderdale County Oct. 28 that will be sponsored by the UTHSC College of Nursing. The Living Healthy in Lauderdale County Health Fair will involve many colleges from UTHSC and will offer services including blood pressure checks, glucose screenings, dental exams and other assessments. The TennIRM Research Symposium will feature overviews of ongoing regenerative science research from TennIRM scientists, updates from affiliated organizations at the University of Memphis, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and industry partners. Poster presentation submissions are welcomed (see registration link).

Cybersecurity Scam of the Week – Quishing? What in the World is Quishing?!?

By now, everyone has heard of phishing. If not, contact the Office of Cybersecurity immediately! We have introduced other forms of phishing that you should be aware of, like vishing (voice phishing – phone calls) and smishing (text messaging – SMS texting). The latest is quishing, the use of QR codes as phishbait. Learn more about these scams and what has been reported to Abuse this past week.
