UNITE is excited to partner with Community Engaged Care and SASSI to offer UTHSC SafeZone training on Tuesday, October 24! 

UTHSC Safe Zone is a training opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to learn about LGBTQ+ identities, and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege within the scope of Healthcare and Health education.

“UTHSC SafeZone Certificates” available upon completion of the training. Dinner will be provided to those who RSVP by 5PM on Friday, October 20. RSVP via this link: https://uthsc.campuslabs.com/engage/event/9509151 The training will be in GEB A104 from 5-8 PM. 

This SafeZone training will serve as an intensive credit on the Co-Curricular Certificate on the Social Determinants of Health.

Dr. Tian Hong will present “Systems approaches for understanding phenotypic transitions of mammalian cells”. The dynamic nature of many biological processes, such as cancer progression, regeneration and immune responses, often involves phenotypic plasticity of cells driven by dynamic gene regulatory networks. In this talk, I will discuss studies of a few gene circuits in the contexts of development and cancer cells through combining bioinformatics, mathematical modeling and experiments. Calling all Wizards and Muggles: Butterbeer, Pizza, and Trivia at the Library!

Muggles and wizards alike, to celebrate the arrival of this exhibit, we’d like to invite students for Harry Potter Trivia, MC’ed by Cerrito Entertainment. The event will be held on Thursday, October 26th from 5pm to 7pm CST. There will also be a costume contest, and costumes both wizardly and non are invited!
