The April 3rd Population Health Research Conference presents “PCORI & Food Insecurity Research Roadmap” by Karen Johnson, MD, Chair & Endowed Professor and Michelle Martin, PhD, Professor in the Dept of Preventive Medicine, and Sarah Rhoads, PhD, DNP, Chair of Dept of Community and Population Health at 12 Noon. Available via Zoom or in person in the Crowe Building, Conference Room 208. Lunch at 11:45, first come first served. Certificate of attendance available.

The NLM exhibit “The Literature of Prescription,” which looks at the impact and the medical knowledge of the day presented in “The Yellow Wallpaper” will run February 26 – April 6, on the second floor of the UTHSC Health Sciences Library and is sponsored by the Library’s Health Science Historical Collections. It is available for viewing 24/7 with badge access.


Are You a Student with a Hidden Disability? You may Qualify for a Study and Receive Compensation!

Kimberly Williams MS, PhD(C) is enrolling African American and non-African American students for a research study “Exploring the Matriculation and Resource Utilization of African Americans with Hidden Disabilities in the Health Sciences” to understand your experiences of having as disability and being a student in the Health Sciences. Subjects must be 18 or older, enrolled in any of the colleges of UTHSC, and be of any race. Subjects will be asked to complete a brief demographic survey and do a 60-90 minute interview via Zoom or in person. Meghan Hufstader Gabriel, PhD currently serves as an Economist at the National Coordinator for Health IT in the US Department of Health and Human Services. She has also held positions in consulting, academia, and in healthcare quality. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and earned her PhD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, under the guidance of Dr. Shelley White-Means.
