LeChelle Davenport has been named director of Financial Aid at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Davenport will provide leadership, direct and evaluate the activities of the office and staff, and engage in the procurement of aid funds from federal, state, and private sources. She will plan, implement and execute the strategic vision of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services regarding financial programs and operational initiatives.
Davenport brings more than 15 years of financial aid, compliance and management experience that includes experience in higher education and the private sector. A Memphis native, she lived in East Tennessee for almost 30 years before moving back to Memphis in 2010.
Davenport holds a master’s degree in Organizational Management from Tusculum College.
Before joining UTHSC, she was the director of Financial Aid Operations at Midwest/Delta Technical Colleges. She also held positions at Pellissippi State Community College, Midsouth Community College, Southwest Tennessee Community College and Ed Financial Services. She was responsible for the direction, supervision and development of financial aid departments and has enhanced the student experience in regards to the administration of federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid programs.
She will report to Darrylinn Todd, EdD, interim associate vice chancellor of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services at UTHSC.
