The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) is conducting an internal, systemwide search for its next vice chancellor for Academic, Faculty, and Student Affairs and chief academic officer.
Directly reporting to Chancellor Steve Schwab, MD, and a member of the university’s senior administrative team, the vice chancellor for Academic, Faculty, and Student Affairs works with all college deans and other vice chancellors to accomplish and advance the academic mission.
Additional duties include serving as the primary liaison for student and faculty organizations and acting as UTHSC’s key representative to national organizations, partner organizations, and governmental agencies in all academic, education and student accrediting-related matters. This internal search will be conducted in accordance with The University of Tennessee’s internal search guidelines for Faculty and Executive Searches covering executive exempt titled positions. The search committee for the Vice Chancellor for Academic, Faculty, and Student Affairs is co-chaired by Anthony Ferrara, CPA, MAS, senior vice chancellor for Finance and Operations, and James C. Ragain, DDS, PhD, dean of the College of Dentistry.
