The University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s campus store in the 930 Madison Plaza, first floor, has a new name and a new look. It is now called the HSC Hub.
Formerly managed under the VolShop brand, headquartered at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, the new HSC Hub now operates as an independent retailer with ownership of the store transferred to UTHSC.
As an independent retailer, the HSC Hub will now have the ability to order and sell its own products tailored to the UTHSC campus and the Memphis community.
“We are appreciative of the VolShop,” said Felicia Hill, HSC Hub manager. Hill has managed the campus store in the Madison Plaza since 2017. “But we found it would be easier to respond to the needs of this campus if we operated the store locally.”
The HSC Hub will sell much of the same merchandise customers have come to expect, including technology items, apparel, accessories, school supplies, food, and beverages. However, the campus can look forward to the HSC Hub carrying more UTHSC-branded items and merchandise that reflects a love for the City of Memphis. The HSB Hub also has an e-commerce website for online orders.
“We are excited to be our own entity and we are looking forward to building relationships with the campus and surrounding community and being able to offer more UTHSC-specific merchandise,” Hill said.
