Dupont Named Associate Vice Chancellor for Institutional Effectiveness and Decision Support

Allen Dupont, PhD, MS, was selected to serve as the University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s (UTHSC) new associate vice chancellor for Institutional Effectiveness and Decision Support. Dr. Dupont began his role May 1, replacing MaryAnn Clark, EdD.

In his new role, Dr. Dupont will provide leadership and oversight of campus-wide and program/college efforts in regional and programmatic accreditations to the Office of Institutional Research and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.

Dr. Dupont obtained a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Rice University, a Master of Science in economics from Louisiana State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in economics from Louisiana State University. He joined UTHSC in 2012 as the director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) institutional accreditation liaison. Previously, Dr. Dupont served as the director of assessment in the Division of Undergraduate Academic Programs at North Carolina State University and as the director of institutional research, planning, and assessment at Young Harris College.

Dr. Dupont reports to the vice chancellor for the Office of Academic, Faculty, and Student Affairs, Cindy Russell, PhD, RN. Dr. Russell said, “Allen has current and deep knowledge of our institution’s regional accreditor, first-hand experience with the variety of professional program accreditors with whom our professional programs work, and expertise in the program reviews required of our programs without professional accreditors.”
