Students from other disciplines at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center will get to learn about physical therapy (PT) and its impact on health care during the Department of Physical Therapy’s 2018 Spring PT Day on April 23.
The event will be on Monday, April 23 in the General Education Building B104 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in room B104. PT students will be providing free assessments and treatments to any student who participates. Any UTHSC student having symptoms such as pain, tightness, trigger points, etc., with any kind of activity is encouraged to attend. Students who are symptom free are encouraged to attend as well, as every student will receive treatment.
“The purpose of the event is to educate students from other disciplines about PT as a profession and give them firsthand experience of what we are capable of as health care providers,” said Will Burleson, second-year physical therapy student and Student Government Association Executive Council vice president. “It also gives PT students some hands-on practice.”
