The University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s Campus Police Department is joining the “Click it or Ticket” campaign with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office from May 20 to June 2 to increase seat belt enforcement.
During this time, Campus Police will patrol the Memphis Medical District, looking for drivers not wearing seat belts. They will issue citations and provide information about seat belt safety and Tennessee’s safety laws. “Safety is paramount, and we want everybody to make sure they are wearing their seat belts to save their lives, the lives of their passengers, and others, should they be involved in a crash,” said Campus Police Lieutenant Celia Tisby.
The Campus Police Department is committed to the safety of the UT Health Science Center Memphis campus and the medical district community. The department is accredited by several law enforcement organizations
