The DASH Research Executive Committee has approved two updates to streamline certification processes, improve compliance, and reduce administrative burden.
1. Transition to the Project Payroll Confirmation Method
- To address compliance and operational challenges affecting about 2,000 individuals with multiple DASH assignments, certification will move to the Project Payroll Confirmation Method. Principal Investigators (PIs) will now certify labor costs on a single project statement covering both their own and team members’ effort. This replaces the hybrid method, which caused effort variances beyond the 5% limit, and is expected to improve accuracy and efficiency.
2. Combined Spring and Summer 2025 Certifications
- To support this transition, Spring and Summer 2025 certifications will be combined into one statement for these periods only. This single certification, due in November, will reduce administrative workload. Note: Previously certified hybrid statements will not be migrated.
Next Steps and Key Dates
- Sept. 24, 2025: DASH Research ECC site becomes read-only
- Mid-November: Notification to PIs when project statements are available for combined Spring/Summer certification
- Dec. 19, 2025: Deadline for PI certification completion
