UT Health Science Center has contracted with Delta Dental insurance. Coverage is OPTIONAL for students and their dependents. For full-time students electing to purchase dental insurance, the dental insurance enrollment period is currently open and will end on September 1, 2025. Please email studentinsurance@uthsc.edu for more information and an enrollment form.
If you were previously enrolled and would like to keep your coverage, no action is needed. However, if you would like to cancel or make any changes to your current coverage, please email studentinsurance@uthsc.edu before September 1, 2025.

Is dental insurance required?
-No, you are only required to have the student health insurance coverage or your own health insurance coverage.
How do I pay for the insurance?
-Like the student health insurance, the students’ dental premiums will be assessed in their Banner accounts along with their tuition and fees at the beginning of the semester.
Do I need to renew every year?
-No, it automatically renews unless you complete a form to cancel coverage. If you cancel coverage after the enrollment period, you will not be allowed to re-enroll for 12 months.
Can I cancel at any time?
-It’s best to cancel during open enrollment period, which begins July 1, 2025 and ends September 1, 2025.
