The University of Tennessee Health Science Center Campus Police Department proudly announces the retirement of Deputy Chief Arley Knight, effective Friday, August 29, 2025.
Deputy Chief Knight joined the UTHSC Campus Police Department on May 1, 2017, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and experience from an already distinguished career with the Memphis Police Department, where he also served with honor as a Deputy Chief.
For over eight years, Deputy Chief Knight has been a steadfast leader within Campus Police, demonstrating professionalism, loyalty, and a true dedication to the safety and well-being of our campus community. His commitment to service has been marked by wisdom, compassion, and integrity. His steady leadership has left a lasting impact on both the department and those privileged to serve alongside him.
Deputy Chief Knight’s retirement marks the close of a remarkable law enforcement career spanning decades of faithful service to the City of Memphis and to UTHSC. While he will be greatly missed, we celebrate his many contributions and the strong foundation he leaves behind.
