Grand Challenge Grant Proposals Due April 30

UT employees,

A reminder that the deadline to submit proposals for consideration for a UT Grand Challenge Grant is Tuesday, April 30.

These grants will fund community-tied projects and research that lead to tangible improvements in one Grand Challenge area (advancing K-12 education, strengthening rural communities, overcoming addiction), while also fostering collaboration across the UT System.

There are two tiers of funding available:

  • Type 1 proposals: $50,000–$100,000
  • Type 2 proposals: $400,000–$500,000

Extra consideration will be provided for the following:

  • Teams comprised of at least two faculty or staff from different departments, preferably spanning campuses across the UT System
  • Collaborations with external partners
  • A clear strategy for sustainability to ensure community impact
  • Clearly defined success metrics to ensure accountability and transformative change.

All faculty and staff at UT System campuses, institutes, extension locations and field offices are eligible to submit proposals.
