Grand Challenge Grant Proposals Due April 30
UT employees,
A reminder that the deadline to submit proposals for consideration for a UT Grand Challenge Grant is Tuesday, April 30.
These grants will fund community-tied projects and research that lead to tangible improvements in one Grand Challenge area (advancing K-12 education, strengthening rural communities, overcoming addiction), while also fostering collaboration across the UT System.
There are two tiers of funding available:
- Type 1 proposals: $50,000–$100,000
- Type 2 proposals: $400,000–$500,000
Extra consideration will be provided for the following:
- Teams comprised of at least two faculty or staff from different departments, preferably spanning campuses across the UT System
- Collaborations with external partners
- A clear strategy for sustainability to ensure community impact
- Clearly defined success metrics to ensure accountability and transformative change.
All faculty and staff at UT System campuses, institutes, extension locations and field offices are eligible to submit proposals.
Your expertise and commitment are crucial in addressing our state’s Grand Challenges. I encourage you to collaborate with colleagues, explore innovative ideas and submit your proposals.
Together, we can make significant strides in solving our state’s Grand Challenges that will shape a better future for Tennessee. Thank you for your dedication to this important initiative.
