The Regenerative & Rehabilitation Sciences Seminar Series welcomes Dr. Zhousheng Xiao, an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at UTHSC.
He received his MD from Nanhua University and PhD from the Central South University Xiangya School of Medicine. He completed post-doctoral fellowships at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and Duke University. He has been an Associate Professor at UTHSC since 2009. He has a long-standing research interest in bone biology and the role of FGF23 signaling in bone remodeling, metabolic signaling, and drug development. His research uses cell, histological, and developmental biology approaches to examine these questions. Dr. Xiao’s published research in these areas has been cited over 5,800 times. A recent research focus is on the function and regulation of polycystins in bone formation.
