Conversations on Health Disparities : Diabetes Prevention: A Traditional Path for Native Americans (Medicine Wheel Nutrition)

Join The Office of Health Disparities Education and Community Engagement and The Office of Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity on Wednesday November 1st at 12:00pm for a Conversations on Health Disparities and lunch session as Fawn Galvan, PT,C/NDT,CPRCS (Paiute/Yaqui) educates us on the Medicine Wheel Nutrition and how Native American adults have a greater chance of having diabetes than any other racial group. This event commemorates Native American Heritage Month and Diabetes Awareness Month. This event is part of the Conversations on Health Disparities series, and is a credit on the Social Determinants of Health Co-Curricular Certificate. Healthy Control Subjects Needed for Research

We invite you to participate in a research study!

We are looking for:

-Men and women

-Ages 18 and older

-No neurological injury or disease

A phone screening interview, collection of demographic information and medical history, and 2 sessions of pencil and paper testing in UTSHC 874 Union Avenue, scheduled at your convenience.

Each visit will last up to 1 hour.

You will be compensated with a $25 gift card from Walmart for each session.
