We are excited to announce that UTHSC is launching a Health Sciences Career Exploring Post in partnership with Scouting America. This program will introduce high school and early undergrad youth to the many fields within healthcare, biomedical science, and public health through immersive, hands-on experiences on our campus.
Do you know a student interested in a healthcare career? The new UTHSC Health Sciences Explorer Post gives teens ages 14–20 the chance to:
- Explore multiple medical and health career paths
- Gain hands-on skills in real labs and simulation spaces
- Learn from physicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals
- Experience what it’s like to study and work at a health science center
- Build confidence and leadership skills
Our first meeting is this Thursday, February 26, at 6 PM in the SAC Dining Hall. To reserve your student’s spot, visit: University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s Healthcare Explorer Post Interest Form. We will meet monthly on the last Thursday of the month.
We are also seeking faculty and staff who are willing to host a session, demonstrate a skill, lead a lab activity, or serve as mentors. Sessions can be simple — an anatomy demo, simulation exercise, research lab overview, or a conversation about your career path makes an enormous impact.
Your participation helps shape the next generation of health professionals and strengthens the University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s commitment to community engagement.
