By order of the governor and in accordance with the Hometown Heroes Act, flags over the State Capitol and all state office buildings will be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Wednesday, February 14, in honor of Blount County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Greg McCowan, who was killed in the line of duty on February 8.
