Dear Colleagues-Friends,
I wanted to take a brief moment to tell you about a couple of exciting things that happened yesterday.
First, our fearless leader, UT President Randy Boyd, has been reappointed by the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees to extend his employment through June 30, 2030. You can read more about the announcement of his reappointment. This is excellent news for all of the UT System, which includes the UT Health Science Center. Last night a dinner was held after the UT Board of Trustees meeting, where UT President Boyd was celebrated by not only the UT Board of Trustees and several of our colleagues across the UT System, but also by Governor Bill Lee and several legislative officials and community leaders. UT President Boyd is fully committing to see his vision to make this the greatest decade in UT history play out. Governor Lee said it best – “a strong University of Tennessee makes a strong Tennessee.”
Second, a big congratulations goes out to our friends at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, for their baseball team winning the College World Series championship game last night. What an outstanding season for the team!
We should all feel the pride and joy in these accomplishments as they raise the national profile of the University of Tennessee.
